Previously: Michelin~Fixies~Upstream Riding~Unattractive World~No Class~Relative Misery~Oil And War

Just for cyclists: this time last year I was praising Michelin (and I still would), I was praising riding a fixie and I was riding upstream as much as up a road. In 2012 I was feeling grim enough about our collective prospects that I had no desire to be young again; I was also feeling that notions of left and right in politics are just redundant.

This week, 2011, already seems like a lifetime away: water passes under bridges quickly: the minor hassles of the week’s rides were put into a proper context by the unfolding disaster in Japan, which in turn brought the events in Haiti to mind. And our war-by-deed-if-not-by-name in Libya rammed home the UK government’s hypocrisy, yet again.
